Abstract
This article presents part of a masters degree research (SANTOS, 2017), whose general purpose was to understand how statistical graphics and tables are adapted in Braille Math textbooks produced by the Benjamin Constant Institute (IBC).The participants of this research were seven professionals which work in the process of adaptading Math textbooks in Braille. The research was carried out in the IBC and the data were collected through the review of tables and statistical graphics in textbooks of mathematics in Braille, observation of the review of these visual statistical resources in the books adapted for the Braille System and interviews with the professionals who have been participating of the Process of math textbooks adaption in Braille. In this article we will introduce a synthesis of the observation that have been made. The studies we used about adaptation of materials for blind students, as well as about the process of adaptation of didactics and paradidactics books for blind students, were essential for the research, but others also contributed to this work. The emerging results of the collected data showed some aspects that can influence a good adaptation, such as: the dialogue between the professionals involved in different functions of the process and the establishmentand registration of the criterion used to decide if a chart or table are well adapted.
