Analyzes and discussions about the use of a tactile didactic material to teach the theme of inheritance patterns to students with visual impairment
Abstract
To determine the pattern of inheritance of human characteristics, analyzes are carried out based on the survey of family history through a graphic representation called heredogram. The teaching of science and biology makes use of many visual elements during the teaching and learning process, being, therefore, an exclusive teaching, for the visually impaired. Thus, the objective was to develop a tactile didactic material for teaching the theme “Heritage Patterns” for people with visual impairments. Despite the initial difficulty in proposing the elaboration of some symbologies due to the similarity of some representations, an attempt was made to create an appropriate identification that would help people with visual impairments regarding the codes used in heredograms.
